Yesterday 19-05-2008 my website www.adslgate.com got blocked in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) which recently took over the responsibility of internet filtering from the much-loathed ISU of KACST, blocked our website adslgate.com (adslgate.com is a Forum that provide and support information for internet and telecoms services in Saudi Arabia).

I contacted the filtering section in CITC by phone to find the reason at 8:30am. They ask me to wait until someone find out the reason from the one who block it because their database not shown any reason for blocking www.adslgate.com, I contacted some of my friends who knows people in CITC to help me to get answer from them. I wait until 12:00pm to get answer from the filtering section and they said the website: adslgate.com got block by mistake. They removed it and the effect should take place on providers at 4:00am next day.

The effect on adslgate.com was only around 3% of the visitors, Because our website is hosted locally in Saudi Arabia with SAUDINET - STC (The Mother Company). So only some of the viewers (around 3%) couldn’t reach the website (Only providers that are not connected to Local Exchange with STC).

Today 20-05-2008 4:00am the block removed and the adslgate.com becomes free again in the internet society from Saudi Arabia.

No One Knows what was the person who did the block doing at that time?

Finally I’m back after a year of busy life..

Today We got huge requests on adslgate.com server 200 request per second each request need php since our website depend on it without static pages.

Right now i’m testing the php5 configuration to get the best performance.
